A Grand Ambition
Century became a standalone brand in October 2025, reflecting Toyota’s strong interest in the ultra-luxury segment, where Rolls-Royce and Bentley have long been fixtures. At the time, the brand unveiled a new coupe concept that could take on the likes of the Bentley Continental GT, but there have been no major official developments since its debut.
Digital automotive artist Nikita Chuicko, better known as Kelsonik, decided to take matters into his own hands by rendering what a production version of the coupe concept could look like. The rendering retains some of the concept’s design elements but adopts a more traditional grand-touring silhouette rather than the original’s raised, crossover-like proportions. This makes its resemblance to the Continental GT even more apparent.
Reimagining the Century
Unlike the concept’s bright orange finish, the rendering features a blacked-out appearance, including large multi-spoke alloy wheels that add a sporty touch. It also retains the quad headlights and taillights. However, the designer didn’t provide interior renderings, leaving no way to compare the cabin with the concept’s futuristic, minimalist design.
Century hasn’t revealed powertrain details yet, but rumors suggest the production version could feature a 6.0-liter twin-turbocharged V12 paired with a plug-in hybrid system, producing around 789 horsepower. If true, the coupe would surpass the 671-hp output of the Bentley Continental GT’s 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 plug-in hybrid powertrain, as well as the more powerful Continental GT Speed’s 771 hp.
Currently, the Century sedan uses a 5.0-liter naturally aspirated V8 hybrid producing 425 horsepower, while the Century SUV, which expanded the lineup beyond sedans in 2023, is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 plug-in hybrid delivering 406 hp.

A Century of Possibilities
It remains unclear when a production version of the Century Coupe concept might arrive. If it does, the model could elevate Century’s global profile, especially if it attracts buyers cross-shopping Rolls-Royce and Bentley models. After all, Toyota has shown interest in bringing the Century brand to the U.S., having showcased the Century SUV in Detroit during the Automotive Hall of Fame induction ceremony in September 2026.
In the meantime, Century’s transition into a standalone brand could allow Lexus to pursue a different direction in the luxury market. Toyota is also expanding its presence in the performance segment through its growing Gazoo Racing lineup, which became a standalone brand earlier this year.
