My favorite laser distance measuring tool, the Bosch GLM100-23, is on sale for Prime Day for $37.79.
Bosch couldn’t get me a sample quickly enough when it launched, and so I ordered one for myself in November 2023 around Black Friday for $40.
So even with tariffs, higher material costs, etc, it’s discounted right now to a lower price than I can recall seeing, even going back several years.
If you’re on the fence, I’m sure it will be on sale over the holidays. I’d be incredibly surprised if it drops lower than this – $40 is typically its season-long promo price.
Why do you need it? Quick and easy point to point distance measurements where a tape measure can’t reach or might be awkward to use.
Key specs? 100ft measurement range, ±1/16″ accuracy, powered by 2x AAA batteries.
Why’s it great? Simple operation, separate unit selection button, no need to worry about chargers or Li-ion batteries that go bad, fairly compact and portable.
Would I buy it? Yes. I very much recommend it. $40 is a great price, $37.79 is a little bit better.
Why not get something cheaper? Other brands could work, there are plenty of cheap alternatives at Amazon and elsewhere. I place a lot of trust in Bosch, stemming from my experiences with their laser distance measuring tools over the years.
The Hoto tool is also discounted for Prime Day. It’s described as a “Gadget Birthday Gift for Men & Women.” It looks decent for DIYers, but is it a serious tool or a household gadget gift item? Bosch’s doesn’t look as sharp, but I’ve found it to be a reliable tool for casual and demanding users who don’t need more features (such as calculations).
It’s a serious no-gimmick tool that I’ve never been disappointed with.
