The current Dodge Durango has defied its age better than almost any other model on the road. A breath of fresh air in the three-row segment, the Durango has a distinct performance focus not seen in its rivals. Besides a lineup of powerful V8s, Dodge’s other strategy has been to consistently expand the customization opportunities for the Durango, and it has built on this expectation with a brand-new exterior color. Called Sub-Zero, this is the fourth new color in as many months for the Durango, and it gives the V8-powered model a distinctively menacing appearance.
Sub-Zero Takes Color Palette to 11

The new Sub-Zero color (a $595 option) is a solid blue-gray hue that first debuted on the Charger earlier in 2026. In the shade, it has a deep and subtle look, while direct sunlight shows off a brighter blue effect. The color looks especially good when combined with the racy striping and sporty wheels the Durango can be equipped with.
“Durango is the muscle SUV that never blends in, and Sub-Zero gives our customers another way to stand out,” said Matt McAlear, Dodge CEO. “Hemi power, attention-getting color and more ways to personalize it from the factory give our customers the freedom to build the Durango they want.”
There are now 11 exterior colors for the Durango, following the launch of Smokescreen last month and After Dark in September. Other colors are Redeye, B5 Blue, Destroyer Grey, Green Machine, Night Moves, Pitch Black, Red Oxide, and White Knuckle.
The Durango can be personalized far beyond the color customers choose, though. In particular, the Durango SRT Hellcat Jailbreak has over 22 million configuration options. That’s based on the various designs and colors for wheels, brake calipers, seats, stripes, and more.
Configuring The Wildest Durango We Could

2027 Dodge Durango

To give you an idea of how extreme buyers can go when ordering one of these SUVs, we configured a Durango SRT Hellcat Jailbreak with some of the more extreme options. The model we configured has the following:
- Green Machine paint ($595)
- Flame Red Dual Stripes by Mopar ($1,695)
- Yellow SRT Hellcat fender badges ($595)
- 20-inch Brass Monkey wheels
- Red brake calipers
Configured in this way, the Durango stands out from the masses of grayscale SUVs in the average parking lot; you will not find a Toyota Grand Highlander or Honda Pilot with anything approaching the Durango’s adventurous options. In the cabin, we added Demonic Red seats ($2,995) and Sepia seat belts ($495), along with a suede headliner ($495).

This particular Durango has a base price of $82,490, but the options take the total cost up to $90,160. That’s a lot to pay for a non-luxury SUV, although this SRT Hellcat does come with a ballistic 710-horsepower supercharged V8 engine.
Next-Gen Durango Still Years Away

Stellantis
An all-new Dodge Durango is only expected to debut in 2029, which means we can expect several more updates and special editions for the current model. The new model will align with the latest emission standards, with a combination of hybrid and pure gasoline powertrains expected. Even with a hybrid powertrain, we expect the next Durango to retain its performance edge over rivals. Not much else has been confirmed about the next-gen model, but the current one continues to defy expectations with strong sales over the last two years.
