If you happen to be a fan of classic Cadillacs and Justin Bieber, there’s a spectacular 1968 Cadillac Coupe DeVille that might tickle your fancy.

This particular land yacht starred in the music video for Justin Bieber’s 2021 song ‘Peaches’, and it’s quite a famous Cadillac as the video has been viewed more than 865 million times on YouTube alone.

In the video, Justin Bieber, Daniel Cesar and Giveon take turns driving the classic Caddy and riding in (and on) it, and whether you like the song or not, it’s hard not to give a thumbs up to whoever cast the car in the video.

Mostly Stock With Some Subtle Improvements

The vehicle listed for sale on Hemmings had an asking price of $89,250, but someone snatched it for just $50,000. The proceeds from the sale went to charity, more specifically the No Name Necessary Foundation, which the seller created after losing his wife Deborah Waknin and her friend Shannen Doherty to breast cancer.

“This foundation was born from their shared dream of turning grief into purpose and the sale of this unique vehicle will start that movement,” said the seller.

The 1968 Cadillac Coupe DeVille appears mostly stock, but it does feature several custom touches, such as a four-corner air suspension system and a Bluetooth-enabled audio upgrade, among other things.

The car is said to have no known mechanical issues and is presented in ready-to-drive condition. It’s not in concours shape as patina is visible in some areas, particularly in the cabin. The woodgrain finish on the instrument panel is worn and clearly needs a fresh lacquer, while a crack is visible on the dash pad and the steering wheel has worn paint.

The Peak Of The American Luxury Era

But that’s nothing that can’t be fixed, and the big Cadillac coupe certainly doesn’t lack character. Its spectacular land yacht profile with equally long hood and trunk lid, the semi-covered rear wheels, the tail fins and the all-red vinyl interior make it a striking presence on the road.

The car has been repainted black—originally it was Grecian White—and the bright headlight bezels and corner-light bezels have also been painted black.

Power comes from a 472-cubic-inch (7.7-liter) OHV big block V8 hooked to a Turbo Hydra-Matic 400 three-speed automatic transmission. The engine is believed to be the original one and delivered 375 horsepower when new, which enabled it to do 0-60 mph in around 8 seconds and hit a top speed of 128 miles per hour.

Mind you, this car wasn’t about raw speed but comfort and luxury, which it had in droves. It is often described as a “livingroom on wheels” as it delivers an incredibly smooth and floaty ride quality, gliding effortlessly over road imperfections.

The V8 does feature some non-original upgrades such as cast aluminum valve covers and exhaust headers, which are part of a custom dual-exhaust system.

Other upgrades throughout the vehicle include an oil pressure gauge and pressure gauges for the electronically controlled four-corner air ride system, an “8 ball” shift knob, and a custom sound system with large speakers mounted in the trunk.
