Finding somewhere to put your outdoor gear and tools for winter can be a headache, especially if the garage is already packed. They end up leaning against the car, blocking the workbench, or taking up the space where the lawn mower usually goes. Then there’s the firewood, garden tools, and whatever else needs to come in before the snow starts. A canopy storage shed is worth considering if you need more covered space but don’t want to spend hundreds on a permanent building or full-size outdoor storage shed.
For a limited time, the Costway 7-Foot by 5.2-Foot Canopy Storage Shed is on sale at Walmart for $130, more than $100 off its normal price. It’s 86 inches long, 63 inches wide, and 65 inches tall, which should give you room for a couple of electric bicycles or a decent amount of yard equipment and tools. There’s a roll-up door measuring 50 inches by 48 inches, with zippers on both sides. That should make getting things in and out fairly easy, and you can leave the door rolled up when you want some fresh air inside.
The cover is made from durable polyethylene fabric, while the frame uses galvanized steel tubing. It comes with four L-shaped stakes, six U-shaped stakes, and four ropes to help anchor everything down. That’s a decent amount of hardware for a temporary shelter, although you’ll still want to clear off snow and keep an eye on it when the wind picks up. The frame goes together without extra tools, using spring buckles and elastic cords, and there’s even a pair of gloves in the box. Not bad for $130 if the alternative is leaving your equipment and tools outside all winter.
