SawStop has announced that they are “closing it’s [sic] business in Europe and the UK.”
A reader emailed me about this today (thank you Tim for the heads-up!), also saying that SawStop dealers in the EU have cut 30% off their on-hand inventory.
On their website, SawStop says:
SawStop Europe will cease its current operations in Europe and within the UK in an orderly manner by the end of 2026.
Existing SawStop table saw owners in these markets can expect for SawStop to provide product support “throughout the transition, and beyond.”
They say that “support, warranty assistance, and access to essential parts, including brake cartridges, will continue past December 2026.”
On social media, SawStop has described this as “a new chapter.”
Festool’s SawStop-equipped table saw is still available. Festool and SawStop are owned by the same company.
There have been recent developments involving the brands’ businesses in North America – see Festool is Taking Over Shaper and New SawStop Band Saw with Safety Tech.
Festool USA also underwent an unexpected round of layoffs last year.
