General Motors has announced updates to the Chevrolet Trailblazer and Trax for 2027, adding an all-new Z71 trim to the former and streamlining the trim lineup of the latter. The automaker says the pair are having their best sales year ever, contributing to more than 250,000 vehicle deliveries recorded since the pair debuted three years ago, so Chevy is adding more safety features, improving their electrical and software-related structures, refining styling, and offering a new interior color. Let’s take a closer look, starting with the new Z71 trim for the Trailblazer.
2027 Chevrolet Trailblazer Z71 Gets New Z71 Upgrades

General Motors
The 2027 Chevy Trailblazer Z71 is being hailed as the model’s entry-level adventure-ready all-wheel drive model, adding an off-road-tuned suspension system, a skid plate for the underbody, and sport-terrain tires. Naturally, several Z71 badges are scattered about, and the logo also appears on the debossed front-row headrests, which can now be finished in Jet Black and Story Gray upholstery with vibrant Orange accents. Other improvements include a new column-mounted shifter, allowing for a redesigned center console with more storage options, including retractable cupholders, and additional HVAC vents for the passengers in the back. An AutoSense power liftgate can also now be specced, and the updated electrical and software architecture allows more than 20 standard safety features and driver aids, including newly standard reverse automatic braking, safety seat alert, side bicyclist alert, rear cross-traffic braking, front park assist, rear seat belt indicator, and intersection automatic emergency braking systems. There’s also a new 11-inch driver information display as standard, alongside an 11.3-inch infotainment screen, which can now support OnStar OneChevy says the updated Trailblazer will be available from spring 2027, and buyers will be able to spec the all-new Storm Sky Gray intrior color. Pricing has yet to be announced, but with the current, MY2026 range stretching from $23,600 to $29,995 before destination or options, we assume the Z71 will take the Trailblazer past $30,000.
2027 Chevrolet Trax: More Safety, Refined Styling

General Motors
The 2027 Chevy Trax gets a streamlined lineup with three trims, the same as the Trailblazer (which comes in base, RS, and Z71 forms). Instead of the LS, 1RS, LT, 2RS, and ACTIVE trims, the 2027 Trax will be offered in base, RS, and ACTIV forms. It gets the same newly standard safety features as the 2027 Trailblazer, the same new interior screens, and the same access to Chevy’s new Storm Sky Gray interior color, but it doesn’t stop there. Outside, a new grille and new wheel designs are joined by full-LED taillighs and a revised liftgate, which is powered for the first time. Finally, the interior’s round HVAC vents have been replaced by new hexagonal desgns, making the cabin feel a little more modern. As with the Trailblazer, pricing is yet to be revealed and availability begins in spring 2027. For the record, the 2026 Trax starts at $21,700 and peaks with the $25,700 ACTIV, but we’ll bring you 2027 pricing as soon as it becomes available.
