Lowe’s just launched a new Kobalt multi-functional bit ratchet tool.
The newest Kobalt meme tool at Lowe’s looks to be 1/4″ hex screwdriver bit ratchet with EDC-friendly keychain-sized case.
They bundle the Kobalt bit ratchet with 10 screwdriver bits in what look to be Phillips, slotted, square, and maybe Torx styles and sizes.
Oh, and it comes with a built-in pry bar that can be used to pull nails, open paint cans, and cut into packaging tape.
I’ve seen a bunch of different EDC-style mini pry bars with built-in bit ratchets at Amazon, but nothing quite like this.
Lowe’s also has a couple of Kobalt tools that look inspired by Wera’s tool kits, and also Harbor Freight’s bit ratchet “meme tool” kit. This new bit ratchet pry bar tool kit is simpler, bit considerably lower priced.
This one looks to be refreshingly original.
Price: $15
What’s a “meme tool?” Harbor Freight launched a copy of the Facom bit ratchet set a few years ago. After it went viral, bit ratchets and sets started being called “meme tools” on social media, to the point where some retailers have built the search term into their online stores.
