Amazon has officially announced that their October 2026 “Prime Big Deal Days.”
This will be a 2-day event with deals, sales, and blah blah you know the rest.
Here’s why you should care. For years now, Amazon’s October deals event has been a broad start to the holiday tool deals season.
Why should Amazon get all of the attention? Other retailers want a piece of your hard-earned cash too.
Because of this, there are usually some competitive deals at other retailers, featuring tools and products that aren’t sold at Amazon.
The holiday deals season kicks off in full swing at the start of November, but many extended-length promos kick off in October.
At this time (mid-September), I try to stop buying any non-essentials at full price, unless there’s immediate need or tied-in incentives. Discounts are coming. Bundles. New promo configurations. Coupon offers.
If you need it, you need it. If not, consider that discounts could be weeks away. There’s always some unpredictability, but Prime Day tends to kick things off.
A lot of tools aren’t discounted in Prime Day or Black Friday promos. But many are. And, some retailers have coupon offers, tiered discount offers, or coupons on in-stock item promos.
Plan and shop – or not – accordingly.
Also, don’t trust any deal news content. Tool deals have become a major focus for many mass media channels, and it seems many will lie or stretch the truth for the sake of affiliate clicks. Many promote bad deals or high prices, and I can’t imagine they’re so incompetent that they would do the same over and over again inadvertently. KNOW YOUR PRICES. There are plenty of online price trackers. Or ask. Once the holiday season is in full swing I’ll have a deal request and discussion post for questions.
