Hozo Sander with Fidget Toy Accessory Base

Did you know that you can turn your Hozo cordless reciprocating sander accessories into a finger fidget accessory toy?

Me neither, until I saw Hozo post about this.

Hozo Sander with Fidget Toy Accessory on Finger post

Hozo ads have been showing up in my Reddit and social media feeds, and today I saw this one where they show it off as a fidget spinner.

It looks to be 3D printed, but they didn’t post details on where you can get the files.

At first I didn’t know whether to be amused or horrified at the concept of spinning tool accessories around at high speed. Once the absurdity wore off, it was clear to me that this is a bad idea.

We’re at a time when a lot of brands are increasingly seeking to connect with users on a personal level, which means they’re posting lots of random entertainment-focused content.

I’m getting tired of these content “hooks,” but on the other hand it did grab my attention.

Maybe I take tool safety too seriously, if that’s such a thing, and I expect the same from tool brands. This particular ad made me even less inclined to buy the Hozo sanding tool.

Safety criticisms aside, I do applaud Hozo for deeply diving into the potential accessory expansion that 3D printing can offer their customers. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen Hozo show off other more functional and less hazardous storage options in earlier ad posts.

So while I really don’t like this finger fidget-spinning accessory concept, I do like the spirit behind it.

I’m definitely till not buying the sander on account of the price and built-in rechargeable battery.
