Hyundai Motor America announced an ongoing 10 percent discount for eligible electric vehicle owners charging at IONNA stations starting August 19, 2026. This financial perk stems directly from the automaker participating as a founding partner of the IONNA network, a major joint venture created by leading global automakers. The network is designed to expand reliable, high-speed, and customer-friendly public charging locations across the United States.

On top of this standard baseline reduction, the manufacturer is sweetening the deal with a substantial limited promotional offering. Through September 30, 2026, eligible Hyundai and Genesis electric vehicles will receive an additional 10% bonus off their sessions. This stacked promotional offer brings the total immediate savings to an impressive 20 percent discount, aiming to significantly lower the overall cost of vehicle ownership during the late summer travel season.

Eligible Models and How to Claim the Savings

The application of these new savings requires absolutely no extra manual effort at the charging pedestal. Drivers receive the immediate financial deduction automatically when initiating a charging session via the Hyundai In-App Charging feature or by using Plug & Charge technology through the MyHyundai with Bluelink app. There are no promotional codes to memorize, applications to navigate at the stall, or math to do while parked.

Currently, the financial benefit covers specific models equipped with the appropriate software architectures and charging capabilities. The qualifying roster includes the 2022 and newer Ioniq 5, the performance-oriented 2025 Ioniq 5 N, the upcoming 2026 Ioniq 9, and the 2025 Kona Electric. Luxury models are included as well, with the 2026 Genesis GV60 and the 2026 Electrified GV70 also eligible for the exact same ongoing reduction.

This standard ongoing deduction is fully combinable with other IONNA promotional offers, meaning drivers could potentially see even lower rates during special holiday pricing events. With competitive Ioniq 5 pricing already appealing to mainstream buyers on the dealership lot, this ongoing operating cost reduction makes the financial case for purchasing a new battery-powered vehicle significantly stronger for budget-conscious families.

The Expanding Public Infrastructure Landscape

While previous infrastructure competition relied heavily on exclusive closed networks or premium paid subscription tiers, Hyundai is opting to bake a permanent flat discount directly into the standard ownership experience to build long-term customer loyalty and reduce overall range anxiety.

Automakers are realizing that competitive hardware and impressive range figures alone are not enough to win over hesitant buyers on a mass scale. Despite recent plug standardization efforts making public fast-charging stations more universally accessible, the actual cost at the plug remains a significant daily factor for commuters. Hyundai’s direct discount strategy proves that delivering tangible, immediate savings is an essential step for dominating the modern electric market.
