As the title says, I am extremely proud of Tekton tools.
Over 12 years ago, I spoke with a Tekton manager about changes they were making to the company.
A few months before that, I purchased a wide range of Tekton hand tools from online dealers. Tekton also sent a bunch of samples.
The tools were decent. But, a lot of the ones I bought were “just okay.” Nothing special.
Today, Tekton is a special company.
They have been launching thoughtfully designed tools. Their quality is now considerably above-average. Tekton pricing is fair. I have not needed to take advantage of their warranty policy yet, but they make it easy – see Tekton Hand Tool Warranty Process Really Seems Hassle-Free.
Today, Tekton tools is known for good tools and great support.
What more could you ask for?
I still have some early Tekton tools, and also some Michigan Industrial Tools I bought earlier. They’re usable, but I like my newer Tekton tools a lot better.
Slowly, Tekton transformed themselves into a solid tool brand.
It doesn’t seem like they diluted their original goals even a little bit. That’s unusual too – a lot of brands grow, get greedy, and then backtrack.
I’m sure it wasn’t easy. And I’m sure that their approach leads them to lose out on some growth or profit opportunities. But they’re stronger for it.
I am really proud of the company. They have come such a long way.
I started upgrading some of my tools to Tekton. They’re solid offerings, and I trust the brand.
As a customer, my only complaint so far is that they don’t have touch-up paint for my red rolling tool box. I dinged the side a little while unloading it into a tight space. But they did point me in a direction in case I want to source some paint separately. That’s the only remotely negative thing I can say about Tekton after their pivot over 12 years ago.
They earned my trust and support. They deserve recognition for putting in the work. Customer satisfaction is at the core of what they do, and it shows.
I also think they deserve credit for their focus and support on USA manufacturing wherever possible. They said they are committed to expanding their selection of American-made tools – see Tekton Statement About Tariff Price Increases & USA Manufacturing.
Talk is cheap. Tekton backed it up with actions. They always back up their claims with actions. It’s rare and commendable.
