To start off, Lowe’s paid partners have been popping up in all of my feeds, promoting a new Lowe’s freebie event that’s coming up.
On 8/22/26, the first 150 people who show up at 10am will get a free mini cooler cup. There are limited quantities, one per member. You must be a “Lowe’s member” to qualify for the giveaway.
They don’t say whether all stores are participating, so maybe call your Lowe’s store a day ahead to avoid wasting a trip.
As for the announcement, here it is:

With a spectacular show of glitter, Lowe’s has made a new announcement today.
Brace yourselves.
Something mini is dropping soon.
Save the date – 7/31.
If only Lowe’s posted this much about Dewalt 12V Xtreme cordless power tools. Or Flex 24V Max. Or Skil 12V Max. Maybe none of those cordless power tool lines would have been purged from stores.
Maybe a post for Craftsman V-Series might have prevented the line of premium mechanics tools from being discontinued.
But no. We get glittery “save the date” content for “something mini.”
Please don’t let this be more Mr. Beast merch.
Maybe it’s a new mini squishy?

Lowe’s paid influencers have been hyping up new “mini pallet coasters,” and I’ve seen some Lowe’s workers complaining about the newest mini merch online.
That can’t be it, because these are already out. So I guess even more mini stuff is coming.
Maybe it’s a tool this time? With all the glitter in the announcement, probably not.
Is all of this still cute and novel? Or overdone?

With all the glitter and posts like “how to be a cool girl this summer,” I’m starting to realize that I’m not part of Lowe’s target audience anymore.
Why keep posting updates about Lowe’s happenings? Some time in the future, people are going to ask a big question – what happened to Lowe’s? Maybe things will change for the better. Or maybe it’ll get even worse. Good or bad, all of these things will eventually tell a story.
Their website is flawed, stores are dirty, and their product selection – at least with respect to tools – has declined in recent years. Will these changes Lowe’s are making, their focus on “viral products” and personalities like Mr Beast and his various “merch,” revitalize the brand and bring in new customers?
And I asked a genuine question – what if Lowe’s gave to tool brands a fraction of the attention they give to “viral” products.
