Leatherman Signal Multi-Tool Sandstorm Special Edition

Leatherman has launched a new limited edition Signal outdoors multi-tool, dubbed Sandstorm.

The Leatherman Signal with Sandstorm pattern features Cerakote-finished knife and saw blades, glow in the dark accents on the removable tools, and is bundled with a cream-colored nylon sheath. It also has sand beige-finished handles.

Here you can see the Cerakote “multi-tone camo pattern” on the knife and saw blades.

It features all of the same tools and functions as other Leatherman Signal tools.

  • Needlenose & standard pliers jaws
  • Replaceable wire and hard wire cutters
  • Wire Stripper
  • 420HC partially serrated knife blade
  • Saw (wood-cutting)
  • Hammer
  • Awl with thread loop
  • Can and bottle opener
  • 1/4″ hex bit driver
  • Flat 1/4″ hex screwdriver bit holder
  • Carabiner clip
  • 1/4″ and 3/16″ box wrench (built into the hex bit driver)
  • Safety whistle
  • Ferrocerium rod (fire starter)
  • Diamond-coated sharpener

The removable ferro rod and sharpener have glow in the dark housings.

The glow features look to be a nice touch.

If you want in on this limited edition, know that supplies are likely limited. If you want to save some money, the Leatherman Signal is available in other standard colors at lower pricing ($149.95).

The regular Signal doesn’t come with a sheath, the Sandstorm does. Sheaths for the other colors are available for $20. For a limited time, select colors (Mesa Verde, Tundrascape) are eligible for a free Leatherman Tool Pouch.

By my math and logic, it seems that the $30 price difference goes towards the limited edition sheath color ($20) and limited edition Certakote blades and glow aesthetics ($10). That seems reasonable.

Price: $179.95

It’s not going to be for everyone. If you like the tool but not the price, and don’t care about the limited edition colorway, I typically report on notable promos. Unfortunately, I don’t expect to see any discounts until the winter holiday season.
