Amazon has a Prime Day deal on the Gearwrench 3/8″ gimbal ratchet.
Should you buy one? Sure. Do you need one? Maybe.

Shown here is the 1/4″ ratchet, which isn’t discounted, to get a sense for how they work.
The Gearwrench gimbal ratchet is a palm ratchet that can flex in 2 directions.
I almost always just use mine with a 1/4″ bit adapter and a screwdriver for driving screws in tight spaces, but I’ve used it with sockets on occasion too.
It’s one of those tools that you either buy because you know it will be useful, or buy and then find uses for.
At the time of this posting, the Prime Day deal dropped the price to $11.30, which is almost $3 lower than where it was – according to Amazon’s price history chart.
That’s not a huge discount, but it might be enough to shove you towards the “gotta have it” side of the fence.
If you’re not sure, hold off and just keep it in mind. You can always pick one up for just the price of a coffee more.
As mentioned, only the 3/8″ ratchet is on sale for Prime Day.
I keep hoping that Gearwrench would launch a version with built-in 1/4″ hex bit holder, but that hasn’t happened yet.
