Home Depot has been running some Makita cordless power tool promos, and also social media ads.
I pay attention to when brands pay to advertise their products at specific retail stores, and when retailers pay to advertise the brands exclusive to them.
Home Depot paying for sponsored posts plugging Makita products is interesting.

There are some Viking Arm lifting jack deals at Lowe’s right now.
1 Viking Arm jack $129
Set of 2 Viking Arms with case and spare parts box for $299

Lowe’s is also apparently selling musical instruments now.
I’ve got tons of screen captures showing all the random stuff Lowe’s pays to advertise on social media, but this was one of the strangest.

Ryobi Days tool deals at Home Depot!
Their biggest deal right now – buy a Ryobi 2-battery starter kit for $99, get a FREE tool. It’s just an okay deal, but worth looking at.

I came across this Powermatic ad. Previous ones made my scoff. Ooh – higher prices for a new coating. Meh.
But this? Wow.
The jointer guard is in use. Push sticks. Proper attire. Sleeves rolled up. What look to be safety glasses. Looks like ear plugs are in use. Hair back and tied up in a bun.
Looks like perfect depiction of safe practices. Well done Powermatic.

The US Department of Education is promoting “skills that pay off.” I guess this one’s for plumbing.
There are so many things wrong with this picture, but maybe it’s the thought that counts?

Here’s another from the the US Department of Education as they celebrate “National Charter Schools Week.”

AI slop is… what it is. But please, make sure any depiction of the American flag gets the stars and stripes right. This one is missing 5 stars.
