Dewalt has launched new jobsite markers.
The new Dewalt permanent markers feature a blocky anti-roll barrel.
Each has a molded rubber grip “for control and comfort.”

Dewalt markers will be available in a couple of styles. Shown here is the fine tip marker.

They will also have chisel tip markers.

The markers will be available in black multi-packs, and also a 4-color pack as shown here. It’s subtle, but the tops of the caps are color-coded.
Here are all of the SKUs announced so far:
- Fine point, black, 12-pack – DXM7004
- Fine point, 4-color pack – DXM7003
- Chisel tip, black, 2-pack – DXM7010
- Chisel tip, black & red, 2-pack – DXM7011
- Chisel tip, black, 24-pack – DXM7012
Pricing and availability details are not yet available.
Discussion

I’m a big fan of Milwaukee Inkzall markers. I also still use Sharpies on occasion.
Some of Dewalt’s design decisions are questionable. The tops of their caps are color-coded, but other than that I think it’s going to be difficult to tell them apart.
It also looks like the fine and chisel tip markers have the same barrel shape.
Will the rubber molded grips really add to the “comfort and control?” Or just inflate the cost a bit.
Permanent markers are usually a convenience buy. Picking up lumber, pipe fittings, electrical boxes, impact bits, or a box of nails? That’s a good time to grab a marker at checkout.

I don’t recall seeing the Kobalt jobsite markers at Lowe’s stores – see Lowe’s Launches New Kobalt Jobsite Markers – and it looks like Lowe’s is no longer selling them online.
I’m guessing that the Dewalt markers will be taking Kobalt’s place at Lowe’s. Hopefully the pricing will be competitive.
