Instagram put a now-stale April 1st Dewalt joke post into my social media feed yesterday, and I found them to be quite ironic.
April Fools Day was full of fake tools and other products, which has been the case for a few years, but most brands went the AI slop route this year. I can’t tell if these are AI-generated or actual renders, which I guess is a good thing.
I found the fake Dewalt tools and equipment to be well done.
But the irony was crushing.

Dewalt Brasil showed off a Dewalt cordless TV, powered by a FlexVolt 60V Max battery.
The concept of a cordless power tool battery-powered TV… how silly!

Makita actually has a battery-powered TV. See Makita 18V Cordless TV & Radio Kind of Makes Sense.

A Dewalt cordless coffee maker, powered by 20V Max. What a good joke!

Makita has coffee makers that work with their cordless power tool batteries. See What’s Brewing? A New Makita Cordless Coffee Maker, DCM501Z.

And also a battery-powered hot water kettle. See New Makita 18V X2 Cordless Kettle for Instant Noodles & More.

An air fryer?

While I haven’t seen any real pro brand battery-powered air fryer, Makita has a cordless battery-powered microwave – Makita is Really Launching a Cordless Microwave. And it eventually launched in the USA – Makita’s Cordless Microwave Just Launched in the USA.
Or is the rendering of a plugged-in model? Well, Dewalt’s Black & Decker sibling brand does have air fryers. It wouldn’t be a big stretch for them to produce a limited edition Dewalt version.
I thought Dewalt’s fake tools gag was well done, compared to the AI slop a lot of other brands put out, but massively ironic since a competing brand has a real cordless TV, coffee maker, and microwave.
