Over on social media, ToughBuilt has announced that their StackTech locking drawer tool boxes are launching at Lowe’s stores later this year.
ToughBuilt StackTech is available online now, and they say the updated tool boxes will be coming to Lowe’s stores this summer (2026).
These appear to be very similar to the drawers they launched a few years ago, but with a built-in locking mechanism.
These also appear to be the same tool boxes that Toughbuilt said were launching last summer (2025). That never happened. See 7 New ToughBuilt StackTech Drawer Tool Boxes – Coming Soon. Half of those tool boxes don’t seem to be included in the newly announced launch.
Here are all of the SKUs I found on Lowe’s online store:
- StackTech 2-Drawer Tool Box – $189
- StackTech 3-Drawer Tool Box – $199
- StackTech 4-Drawer Tool Box – $219
- StackTech 2-Drawer Rolling Tool Box – $279
At the time of this posting, ToughBuilt’s new StackTech drawer tool boxes are priced higher than similar offerings from Milwaukee Packout and Klein ModBox. In other words, these prices look to be the highest priced modular tool boxes in the industry.
ToughBuilt seems to have laid off their marketing and communications teams, and so we’re unable to get you answers to any questions.
Also, I should remind you that there’s still an ongoing patent infringement lawsuit against ToughBuilt regarding their StackTech tool boxes (case no. 8:24-CV-01840). I checked for an update today, and the legal action against ToughBuilt is paused until ToughBuilt’s petition to invalidate the patent holder’s patents is resolved (IPR2025-01461, IPR2025-01462.)
I’ll be interested to check these out, if they do launch at Lowe’s this summer. Unfortunately I say “if” because they were supposed to launch last summer.
There’s been no further teasers about the white and pink accented tool boxes that ToughBuilt showed off on social media last year. See Just When I Gave up Hope for ToughBuilt StackTech. It’d certainly fit in with Lowe’s penchant for limited editions.
