The new Infiniti
Nissan’s luxury arm has been quietly reinventing itself, and the 2026 QX60 is proof that this isn’t just marketing fluff. The brand calls its design philosophy “Artistry in Motion,” and while that sounds like brochure speak, take one look at this SUV, and you’ll see what they mean. I drove this all-new Infiniti QX60 on a road trip to see this Artistry in Motion for myself and whether the renaissance for Infiniti is complete.
Bold bew look
The QX60 borrows heavily from Infiniti’s new flagship, the QX80, and that’s a good thing. Designers gave it a wider, lower stance for more presence, and the details pop. The grille floats above a lower bumper, framed by segmented DRLs inspired by digital piano keys. A 3D Infiniti badge with illumination adds a premium touch. It’s a clean, upscale look that feels fresh without trying too hard.
Under the hood
The big news is the engine. Gone is the old V6, replaced by a 2.0-liter VC-Turbo four-cylinder making 268 horsepower and 286 pound-feet of torque. It’s paired with an updated nine-speed automatic that keeps turbo lag in check. Multiple drive modes and available all-wheel drive give the QX60 confidence in all conditions, and towing capacity checks in at 6,000 pounds when properly equipped.
Inside the cabin
Infiniti has always done seats well, and the new TailorFit seating continues that tradition. Made from 65% recycled materials, they’re softer and more durable than typical leatherette. My Sport trim tester had second-row captain’s chairs, making this a six-passenger setup with plenty of space for heads, shoulders, and legs. Fold everything flat, and you get 75.4 cubic feet of cargo space.
The dashboard, however, is busy. There are knobs everywhere, and it feels cluttered compared to rivals with cleaner layouts. The 12.3-inch touchscreen is intuitive enough, and tech features like wireless smartphone integration meet expectations. The Klipsch 16-speaker audio system was a pleasant surprise—rich sound that elevates the cabin experience. Overall, the interior leans toward practical refinement rather than flashy luxury. It’s comfortable, well-built, and premium without being gaudy.
Efficiency and price
With AWD, the QX60 is rated at 22 mpg city and 27 mpg highway. On a long road trip, I averaged nearly 26 mpg, which feels reasonable for a three-row SUV with this level of capability. My tester carried an MSRP of $61,700, and after options and destination, the total came to $65,010.
Final thoughts
Infiniti may not dominate headlines like some other luxury brands, but the QX60 shows it’s still very much in the game. It’s a wonderful SUV well-suited for road trips or everyday driving. With sharp styling, a modern powertrain, and a focus on comfort, this SUV is part of a genuine renaissance for the brand—and that’s good news for buyers looking for something different in the premium three-row segment.
