According to recent influencer reports, new Makita Maktrak tool boxes are confirmed to be launching in the USA in time for the holiday shopping seasons.
This major second wave expansion of compact MakTrak products follows 2 years after Maktrak first launched in the USA.
I was at my local Home Depot this week, and found the entire line of full-size Makita Maktrak tool boxes covered in a thick layer of dust.
The “fits in your pickup truck” concept makes sense, and the engineering was excellent. But perhaps the USA market is more welcoming to a more “standard” form factor.
More options is always good news.

I previously posted about the new rolling tool box and rolling drawer tool box – Makita Launched New MakTrak Rolling Tool Boxes, plus a smaller-size accessory box.

It looks like Makita is further expanding their compact wave 2 Maktrak tool box products with new open-top crates in shallow and deep sizes.
There have been photos online that some of the new Makita MakTrak tool boxes are made in China. This could just be for certain regions and they’re employing a “make it near where you sell it” strategy.
Makita has not yet said whether the new Maktrak products that are launching in the USA are made here or if they’re imported. I presume that the new products will continue to be made here, but we’ll see.
I also haven’t seen any drawer tool boxes aside from the new roller base unit. Maybe drawer tool boxes will arrive with the next wave of new Maktrak launches.
