Nobody at Craftsman tells me what’s going on anymore, and so I’ve been checking Lowe’s to catch their new product developments.
This one surprised me – new Craftsman “Professional” retaining ring pliers. Professional? Was that an AI or algorithm slip-up?
Let’s face it – Craftsman’s not exactly catering to demanding users anymore, let alone professionals.
The tool itself doesn’t look that special, aside from its close resemblance to Channellock 927 snap ring pliers.
Made in USA with global materials? That was a surprise.
It’s sold at retailers such as Amazon and Acme Tools.
But looking closer at the Lowe’s product page, it says this Craftsman tool is “sold and shipped by Stanley Black and Decker.”
Sure enough, the seller info lists a “lowesmarketplace” contact at Stanley Black & Decker.
That’s new and highly unusual.
I found some other tools that are also sold and shipped directly from Craftsman’s parent company.
Craftsman is selling direct on Lowe’s marketplace.
What does this mean?
