I keep seeing paid placements for the new SawStop Band Saw across different platforms.
It’s not unusual for a tool brand to buy ads on Reddit or social media platforms to promote their tools.
But in this case, there’s no firm ETA for the new SawStop band saw, other than “available mid-2027.” This is a tool that SawStop isn’t selling yet.
Let’s take the ETA literally, to mean right smack in the middle of the year. That’s over 9 months away.
There are no preorders. The price hasn’t even been announced yet.
With SawStop being SawStop, I wonder if competitors have their own safety tech band saws on the way, and SawStop is trying to establish themselves as being first.

Or maybe this is part of their rebranding campaign.

If you ask me, they’re doing a terrible job with that.
SawStop’s website and other channels continue to feature the old logo with circular saw blade, even while touting “the new look of SawStop.”
None of this is a big deal, of course, or at least I don’t think so.
I just find it incredibly peculiar for SawStop to be throwing marketing dollars into advertising a tool that hasn’t been built yet and won’t be selling for months, for who knows how much money.
The rationale eludes me. Thoughts?
