I visited my favorite Lowe’s store last week, something I try to do before and during the winter holiday tool deals season.
This Lowe’s store is a further drive, and so I don’t go there as often as I visit the Lowe’s stores closer to me.
A number of thing caught my attention.
I don’t know when they made changes, but there was a lot of workwear.

They had Carthartt and Wrangler.

There were some Dickies clothing on clearance.

Seasonal men and women’s t-shirts were on clearance.
It didn’t look like workwear to me, but it’s hard to say.

Carthartt winter hats in 12 colors? Nice. They also had some cooler weather vests and jackets.

More t-shirts. “Americana graphic tees” for $10 each.

They also had spring graphic t-shirts at the same price.

And more t-shirts.

Messi socket shorts in kids small? What store was this, again? Did I accidently step inside a Kohls or Marshalls?

They had some promo displays with Kobalt power tools and mini tool boxes.

I wanted to see if they had expanded their selection of Metabo HPT cordless power tools. They had not. There was a separate equally-narrow display with cordless air nailers.

I’ve seen this before. You can’t just buy a Kobalt 10mm socket anymore, you have to buy a 6pc assorted set, from 8 to 13 mm.
I wonder how many or few of these sets they sell.

I found two faceless mallets in the hammer section. Did someone unscrew and steal the rubber faces?

“Feed Your Freak” with rotten snacks that have “way less sugar” and “prebiotic fiber.”
Oh good, the fall collection of Mr Beast Feastables is in, with “creamy peanut butter jack-o-lanterns.”

Toy cars, which I’ve seen before, and squishy dumplings.
Makes sense. With kids t-shirts in the main aisle, why not trendy toys too.

Mini pallet coasters.

Mini buckets that don’t seem to be selling. Although, the glitter buckets were nowhere to be found. See Lowe’s Unveils New Sparkly Silver Glitter Mini Bucket.

They had plenty of space for Kobalt mobile workbenches in pastel colors.
Honestly, I like that Lowe’s has moved beyond red, black, and blue, but it seems this is their entire strategy. At some point they’re going to have to do something new.

They still had ToughBuilt StackTech tool boxes.

The prices seemed too high. I foresee the entire line collecting dust until Lowe’s moves on (again).

I found a broad selection of Klein Knect tool kits and related products. Is this too much?
Overall, I was surprised at the amount of floor space that Lowe’s gave workwear and leisurewear. I expect to see the promo displays rotated out for holiday season tool deals, but the workwear aisles are less likely to change.
Has this been working out for Lowe’s?
A shelf for pet supplies? Sure. Pick up your work supplies and other stuff all in one place, letting you skip a trip to a different store.
But squishy dumplings? Kids Messi soccer shirts? Several pallets worth of cheap seasonal t-shirts? How many of those shirts do you think had AI-generated graphics?
Hold on, Lowe’s just shared a new announcement on social media.

“Pink teeny totes are here.”
That’s not all.

Lowe’s needs you to know that their NFL-themed mini tool boxes can hold plenty of makeup. See: Lowe’s Limited Edition Kobalt NFL Tool Boxes are Selling Fast.
Come for the makeup storage, leave with some Mr Beast products and kids Messi t-shirts.nn
I did buy a couple of items, including a glow in the dark Halloween-themed bucket. See I’d Get this Glow in the Dark Halloween Bucket from Lowe’s.
