Dewalt has launched a new 20V Max cordless oscillating multi-tool kit, DCS356D1.

It seems to be priced quite low right now at Amazon – $119 for the full kit.
There were 2 other kits with the DCS356 XR oscillating tool.

There was a budget version, DCS356C1, which included the same XR tool and Dewalt’s lowest capacity battery, and a premium version, DCS356D1, which included a 2Ah battery, starter accessories, accessory storge box, and depth guide.
All of the kits came with a charger and some accessories.
The new Dewalt cordless OMT kit also has model number DCS356D1, suggesting it’s a replacement. Or maybe it’s an Amazon-exclusive kit version.

This version of the kit looks to be missing the accessory storage box, tool bag, and a couple of sheets of sandpaper.
But, its price has held steady at a very reasonable $119.

Home Depot recently had limited quantities of the older version of the DCS356D1 kit at the same $119 promo price.

They now have a new version of the DCS356D1 kit, priced at $249. I’m guessing this will be discounted soon, for Prime Day or a different promo or sales event.

Lowe’s launched the same tool kit, which they also have priced at $249 right now. I am seeing the same at Acme Tools.
Amazon’s deal right now gives you an extra blade but skips the tool bag and some of the sheets of sandpaper. It’s also half their price.

Shop carefully. From what I’m seeing, there are 3 different versions of the Dewalt DCS356D1 cordless oscillating multi-tool kit right now.
Amazon’s seems like a good deal right now. The “Home Center” version seems to be replacing the older version with the accessories box.
All of the kits give you the same brushless motor 3-speed XR tool, same 2Ah battery, what looks to be the same or similar charger, and depth gauge (which can be a chore to piece together separately). The price and included accessories vary.
Dewalt has new 20V Max oscillating multi-tool kits on the way – an XR oscillating tool (DCS359), and also a slightly lower-featured Atomic series tool (DCS358). See also Dewalt is Launching 2 New Oscillating Multi-Tools.
The DCS356 is a tried-and-true option. If you go in that direction, just be sure to know that the DCS356D1 looks to come with different accessories depending on where you buy it.
