Vessel has a line of ball handle screwdrivers that are built with an actual ball inside.
Right between the ball-shaped part of the handle and the finger-twist zone, there’s a white ball made out of zirconia.
While not an insulated tool, Vessel says this is “for electric works.” The idea is that the ceramic ball provides some isolation so that you won’t get zapped by incidental contact.

The tool also has a metal strike cap that’s designed to hold up to hammer strikes. Thus, the ceramic ball ensures the strike cap isn’t electrically coupled to the shaft.
Again, it won’t substitute for insulated tools in situations where there’s risk of incidental contact. But, it seems like an interesting concept.
I bought one a few years ago to check out, and it feels as robustly built as any other Vessel screwdriver I’ve used or tested.
You can get these in Phillips or slotted sizes.
- Slotted 6 x 100mm – 250S6100
- Slotted 6 x 150mm – 250S6150
- Slotted 8 x 150mm – 250S8150
- Phillips PH2 x 100mm – 250P2100
- Phillips PH2 x 150mm – 250P2150
- Phillips PH3 x 150mm – 250P3150
Price: ~$15 for the PH2
As for the Phillips tip, Vessel typically promotes them as universal cross style that fits Phillips and JIS fasteners.

Looking for something less specialized? I’m a fan of Vessel’s wide range of ball handle screwdrivers.
