Knipex launched a new limited edition summer tool set, featuring their TwinGrip pliers (10″), high leverage diagonal cutters (10″), and a special edition 7″ diecast bottle opener.
Price: $100
Pre-Publication Update: Acme Tools has it for $90, and it looks to be coupon-eligible. If you missed the percent-off coupon, code TOOLGUYD saves you $10 off $79+, one use per customer, resets every 30 days.
Let’s price it out.
Knipex TwinGrip 10″ adjustable slip joint pliers (82 01 250): $46.40 at KC Tool, similar at Amazon.
Knipex high leverage 10″ diagonal cutters (74 01 250): $50.33 at KC Tool, ~$45 at Amazon (direct).
Special edition zinc diecast bottle opener with TwinGrip handle shape: priceless?
So that’s around $92-$97 for the 2 tools if you buy them separately.
The packaging describes the special edition bottle opener as “FREE.” By my math, you’re paying a couple of dollars for it, but I’d say it’s well within the realm of “worth it!” for a functional collectable.
If you want or need the 10″ TwinGrip pliers and 10″ diagonal cutters, this looks to be a good buy.
Want the 2 tools but not the bottle opener? For the little you’d save buying the 2 tools separately, get the bundle gift set anyway.
What if you already have one of the tools? Well, how much do you like it and wish you had another?
Here’s the SKU in case you want to shop around: 9K 00 80 188 US. From what I’m seeing, the price seems set in the USA at $100.
Pre-publication update?? I wrote the post after checking a few places and seeing pricing of $100 and up. Just before publishing, I searched around again using the SKU, and the Acme listing popped up in a Google shopping placement. I wasn’t sure how to rewrite the post around the new price, which could be limited, hence the quick note before posting.
