It looks like Flex has a new 24V cordless mini grinder and cut-off tool, model FXA3111A.
The new Flex cut-off tool and grinder is designed to “deliver big power in a compact size.”
It’s mainly for “cutting and surfacing applications.”
The tool has a 76mm (3″) wheel size.
- 3″ wheel size (9.5mm arbor)
- 4 speed settings
- 5K, 10K, 15K, 20K RPM
- Anti-kickback brake
- Rotating tool head
- Adjustable speed
- One-step guard adjustment
- Dual LED worklight
- Weighs 0.85 kg (~1.87 lbs)
The rotating head seems interesting, allowing users to cut or grind to the right, to the left, or from above.
It shops with a sampling of accessories, clip-on cutting guard, dust extraction hose connector, belt clip, and hex wrench.
At this time Flex has only announced the new cut-off tool and grinder overseas. USA details are not yet available.
Discussion

It seems like several cordless power tool brands have turned their attention towards compact grinders and cut-off tools. Dewalt also recently launched their own 20V Max Atomic series grinders – see New Dewalt Atomic 20V Cordless Grinders Take on Air Tools.

The new Flex tool is a bit different. Many brands have cordless cut-off tools of a similar size.

Flex’s take doubles as a grinder, with the rotating head adjusting the ergonomics for the task.
Have you seen a tool like this before?
