Makita launched their first 40V Max XGT cordless heat gun, model GGH01Z.
The Makita XGT heat gun is a variable speed model that can be set from 120°F to 1110°F in 10°F increments.
It also has adjustable air flow, from 4.25 to 7 CFM.

The Makita XGT heat gun has a quick release attachment mechanism, for “touchless” nozzle replacement.
It comes with a selection of 1-3/8″ nozzles:
- Glass protection nozzle
- Wide-slot nozzle
- Reflector nozzle
- Reduction nozzle
Makita says their XGT cordless heat gun is ideal for use on heat shrink tubing, window tint installation, vehicle wraps and vinyl graphics, thawing frozen metal pipes, loosening adhesives, caulks, and sealants, removing paint and varnish, bending PVC conduit and plastic materials, and more.
Runtime is said to be up to 30 minutes (continuous) when powered by an XGT 4Ah battery (18V 8Ah equivalent).

There’s an LCD display at the top for displaying the active settings and a battery status indicator, along with 3 buttons for fan speed and temperature control.

There’s a hanging hook at the rear, which can be released with a button press.
