Bosch has announced a new 18V cordless screwdriver as part of an “industrial” line.
The new Bosch cordless screwdriver requires a bit of explanation, as it’s not a typical driver designed for general construction use.
As the brand’s reps say, it’s not “necessarily your standard power tool for trade and industry,” and is more for production line use or as an installation tool for trades applications with specific demands.

Bosch says their industrial screwdriver is “more precise,” and “harder wearing” compared to other tools in their range. It’s also a “combination of all the best things” in their Exact range of power tools.

The new fastening tool has a high precision electronic clutch.
Users can adjust the torque setting for repeated driving tasks, and there also custom modes that can be set in between the standard settings.
The torque tolerance is said to be ±15%.
With respect to durability, Bosch reps said that it’s “designed for millions of trigger pulls” and was engineered with components that need to be more robust than even their best professional line cordless power tools. They are harder wearing so as to avoid downtime on a production line.
Additional features include anti-kickback control and audible error and warning alerts.
They mentioned NFC connectivity in the context of a smartphone app.

The Bosch Pro 18V 2Ah battery has a fuel gauge at the front.
In addition to industrial production use, the driver can suit demanding trades applications, such as solar panel installers who need a more accurate tool or reporting features.
This is not going to be the type of tool you’d use for general purpose fastening tasks.
Bosch says there are 7 other tools in their industrial line, but I haven’t seen anything about them yet.
