Lowe’s has an excellent price on the Bosch 1617EVSPK woodworking router combo!
The Bosch 1617EVSPK is a corded router combo that comes with the motor, a fixed base, and a plunge base.

It’s ancient by today’s standards. I was shopping for a router with a gift card almost 20 years ago. I went with the Bosch-made Craftsman Pro router because it had darker colored wood handles that I liked better. A few years ago I also bought the Bosch, because it had great attachment compatibility and so that I could leave my Craftsman Pro motor in my router table.
Just because it’s an old design, that means nothing. It’s tried and true.

The motor has a 2-1/4 HP power rating. There are more powerful routers out there. I don’t care, this has been my go-to, and it has been perfect.
Lowe’s says the price was $279. Other retailers have it for $269 or $279 right now. Acme has it for $279 before $20 coupon.
$189 is a typical seasonal deal price. It was $169 last October, with a discount and coupon, and $169.15 the October before that. Those were both Prime Day deals. Back in 2019, it was $159 after discount and coupon towards the end of the holiday shopping season.
The best coupon offer I’ve seen on the router was in 2018, when it was $189 and eligible for $50 off $200+ coupon. I don’t believe I’ve seen a repeat of that price since.
Right now, Lowe’s has the Bosch router as a deal of the day for $149 with free shipping.
To me, this is a “don’t think, buy it while you can” type of price. Change your mind? Return it. Wait too long, and it might sell out. There’s also a chance maybe Lowe’s will come to their senses and hike the price up – that seems to happen a lot after I post about Bosch’s best holiday season deals.

Lowe’s tool deals of the day are all over the place. Yesterday they had a repeat of a Dewalt oscillating multi-tool deal that is so high priced it’s an awful value that I’d even consider a rip-off. Today, they have a Bosch router combo at the best price I have ever seen.
I like this deal and want to see more just like it!
