There is a funny meme on the Internet, and it’s about people who let their intrusive thoughts win. For a car enthusiast, this might mean driving your 4×4 down a staircase, drifting your Ford Mustang while leaving a car show, or sending a floor jack through a taillight just to see what happens. Oh, that last one was only me?

Brian Silvestro wrote about a guy who apparently let the intrusive thoughts win some six years ago, because he’s been driving a Ferrari-themed Dallara GP2/08 on Czech highways. Yeah, it took that long for the cops to nab him. The story was properly nutty from start to finish, and the comments were hilarious. Emil Minty:

They were only able to catch him because he had to slow when a Czech engine light illuminated.

Emil Minty (again):

It was inevitable. Gotta Czech yourself before you wreck yourself.

Officer: Do you know why I pulled you over?

Phantom Driver: Because I let you.

10001010:

It’s refreshing to see the commentariat is already full of *czechs notes* puns.

Grey alien in a beige sedan:

Only four comments in, and I’ve already wandered every aisle of the Dad Joke Mart.

A. Barth replied:

Then I guess you’re ready for the Czech-out line.

Mighty Bagel:

Bucket List: Drive Formula One car on highway. Czech.

Urban Runabout:

When he pays his fine, I recommend they not take his personal Czech.

5VZ-F’Ever and Ever, Amen:

When he Czech’d his mirrors, he immediately knew he was Buk’d.

SNL-LOL Jr:

Scuderia Ferrari should bid on this so their engineers can learn a thing or two about making racecars.

TK-421:

If I won the lottery, I wouldn’t say anything, but there would be signs.

Paul E:

The driver received a black flag, not a Czechered one.

Cheap Bastard:

“If you had a car like that at home, you wouldn’t just want to look at it. For me, just because a car isn’t built for the highway doesn’t mean it can’t be driven on it. Not by a long shot. Drivers who drive at 30 mph on country roads are far more dangerous.”

Czech your privilege buddy.

Basically, every comment in that story was gold. I love the Autopian community!

David Tracy asked our readers about what truck to keep as he continues his new life as a dad. StillPlaysWithCars is harsh, but realistic:

David, stop this nonsense.

Sell them all except the YJ, Mustang, and i3.

You point blank do not have time to wrench and be a good Dad and partner. As your kid gets older maybe they’ll be into cars and you can wrench with them but it makes ZERO sense to irrationally hold on to these vehicles because of what they “could” be when they literally will not get there in the next 5 years at best.

Trust me when I say that when your time comes you will not look back at your life and say, “Man, I’m really glad I kept that J10.”

I get it, your life is rapidly changing and you’re trying desperately to hold on to your prior identity. The truth is that those days are gone and there’s nothing you can do and nothing that you can hold onto that will bring them back. But it’s ok, new (and in my opinion better) joys will come out of being a parent. Steer into the skid and enjoy the ride instead of trying to fight it.

Have a great morning, everyone!
