Craftsman has launched a new VersaStack XL tool box system.
I’m guessing Craftsman VersaStack XL will appear at Lowe’s stores alongside the new Bosch L-Boxx Contractor system.

If you’re thinking that Craftsman VersaStack XL looks familiar, that’s because it’s basically a relabeling of the Craftsman Tradestack tool box system.

Given the naming similarities, are Craftsman VersaStack XL tool boxes and accessories, such as this 3-drawer box, compatible with Craftsman VersaStack products?
Sorry, Craftsman VersaStack XL and VersaStack tool boxes are NOT compatible with each other.
There is an exception. If – and only if – you buy the Craftsman Tradestack or VersaStack XL rolling tool box, or a combo stack that includes the rolling tool box, that one component comes with a Tradestack or VersaStack XL to VersaStack adapter.
Maybe Craftsman will launch the as a standalone accessory.
Tradestack is (was?) a good modular tool box system. See Craftsman TradeStack Tool Box System Review.
The storage system has been around for around 5 years now, although Craftsman has barely added to it.
Now that Tradestack has been rebranded as Craftsman VersaStack XL, maybe they’ll pick up the pace and launch some new products.
Tradestack products – at least the ones I’ve seen – were made in the USA. Hopefully Craftsman only changed the name to VersaStack XL, and not where the tool boxes and organizers are being produced.
Thank you to everydaycivilian for the heads-up!
